“I have been preparing for my junior year by working hard with my teammates in the morning before school and at open gyms,” said Phillips.
“Last year we made it to state and this year we plan on working harder then we did last year and our goal is to win conference and go to state again.
“I have been working on being a leader for my team and being more vocal on the court, helping my teammates get to where they need to be.”
The Polars went 24-6 last season Yes the senior class was a big part of the team but Goodnews Kpegeol, Josh Steckler, and Phillips all return and Bryce loves his group.
“I feel like this year we have more talent then we did last year,” Bryce said. “This year our team is really good at getting on runs and picking each other up and when we play fast and play together and run the floor and we are hard to beat.”
At Bryce’s home he has section champion honors as well as state tournament memories. He wants that feeling again. He hungers for it.
“Last year made me realize how important it is to work hard in the off season so that when the season begins we can start off on a good note and work hard to get further then we did last year,” Bryce said.
“It made me really hungry for this year! I want to go as far as we can this year, hopefully further than last year.”
