Michigan’s 94th-ranked 2017, Woodhams says he’d embrace the opportunity to play at the D3 level, and a top priority for him is finding the best fit academically.
“I’ve been in contact with a lot of Division III schools, and technically they can’t offer, but Lake Forest, Kalamazoo College and Hope College, Alma, I’ve talked to all of them. I’ve really talked to Hope and Kalamazoo a lot,” said Woodhams.
“I’ve taken visits to Hope and Kalamazoo, and even though I can’t technically get an offer from them, but I can still play basketball there.”
He added: “I’m interested in finding a school that fits what I’m looking for academically, as well as on the court. So if a Division III school is that school, or a Division II or NAIA, I’m just looking for the right fit.”
A sharpshooter with good size, Woodhams says his goal is to be the most complete player he can be by season’s end.
“I feel that I’m an elite shooter and I can help stretch the floor,” he said. “And I have a well-rounded game and can help in all aspects of the game. And I’m an incredibly hard-worker and don’t take any days off.”
With his senior season quickly approaching, Woodhams mentioned to PHMI some personal goals of his, and team goals.”
“I want to play up to my potential and leave everything on the court, and know that I gave all I could, that’s my personal goal,” said Woodhams.
“I’m definitely going to be a guy who helps the young guys understand what it takes to succeed at the varsity level. And we have a new coach so things are going to be a lot different with how he runs things. I just want to be a leader on the court and in the locker room.”
