Today we unveil prospects #46-#50!
#46 PG Joseph Yesufu (Bolingbrook – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
When the rock is placed in his hands he changes the game with his speed and court vision in the open floor. Yesufu has tremendous speed pushing it and blowing by defenders. The strong guard has a sick euro step in the lane that he uses on occasion. Jump shot is a bit streaky.
#47 PF Justin Carpenter (Mt. Carmel – 2017)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Southern Illinois 6’7” power forward that is one of the more skilled posts in the state. He can score with his back to basket with quick moves and a soft touch around the hoop where he is very efficient. Also has face up ability where he can hit a pick and pop jumper as well as put it on the deck a little. Actually plays some point forward for his high school team at times. Needs to add strength for long term success. Runs the floor extremely well.
#48 SF Trevian Bell (Joliet West – 2017)
Last Year’s Rank: #23
Bell is a strong 6’5” small forward from Joliet West that works well in the mid-range. Makes sound decisions as a passer and consistently knocks down 15-18 foot jumpers. When attacking the hoop off the bounce he isn’t afraid to seek contact and get to the free throw line. Probably the top prospect on the Wolves 17U team and should be considered at the mid-major level.
#49 PF Tyree Martin (Curie – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Martin is really starting to emerge in the 2018 class. The Curie four man is a force on both ends of the floor. First and foremost he is an outstanding offensive rebounder. He hits the glass with an explosive second jump recording multiple put backs in every game. Very active on the offensive end with his high motor and energy. Not a real back to the basket scorer yet, but gets his points running the floor, on offensive rebounds, and quick dunks. Defensively is a major presence swatting shots. Uses length and bounce to change the game.
#50 PF Treavon Martin (Curie – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Martin is a 6’8” four man that put his name on the map across the state in the state tournament where he had a huge effort to help Curie capture the title. Plus defensive rebounder that high points the ball with his great length. He has got stronger in his upper body over the last few months. Offensively is pretty raw in the post beyond catching quick passes for dunks. Can knock down a 15-18 foot jumper on occasion. Definitely has D1 potential.
