Today we unveil prospects #36-#40!
#36 PF Messiah Jones (Simeon – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: #21
The 6’6” power forward continues to show his potential. Very active on the offensive glass getting put backs and tip dunks. Quickness around the hoop is his forte. Shows a little skill too hitting mid-range jumpers and going to a left handed jump hook. Efficient scorer with his touches around the hoop. If he hits that growth spurt watch out!
#37 SG Myles Baker (Whitney Young – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Baker is a 6’2” shooting guard from Whitney Young. He has smooth handles getting pretty much anywhere he wants on the floor. The athletic and rangy wing gets to the hoop where he finishes around the rim. Plus perimeter shooter as well that has range stretching out to three with ease. Potential defensively as he moves well laterally. Has D1 ability early in the process.
#38 PG DeAndre Heckard (Romeoville – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Heckard lit it up in July with Hoops4Health over the summer. Heckard has great size for position along with broad shoulders and strong arms. Totally looks the part along with quality athleticism. Has a nice feel for the game and is a plus passer with the ability to find teammates in the open floor as well as dish it off on the interior in the half court. Explosive off the bounce slashing to the basket where he is slippery through traffic getting to the rim. Powerful finishing at the paint. Displayed an improving jump shot. Really competes and has a passion for the game. Should be monitored by LM programs.
#39 PG Marquise Walker (St. Joseph’s – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Walker is one of the more mature lead guards in this class. Got quite a bit of experience as a freshman at St. Joe’s, but was off the grassroots radar playing for a Florida team. Walker puts a lot of zip on his passes and has vision in the transition game. Potential on his jumper. Can hit a mid-range baseline J and a catch and shoot three. Defensively pressures the basketball.
#40 SG Anthony Fairlee (Springfield Southeast – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Fairlee is a 6’3” 2019 prospect from Springfield Southeast. His athleticism jumps off the floor literally! His head is at the rim for a good portion of most games. He has nice length and uses his freakish athleticism to hit the glass for tip dunks as well as get out in the transition game where he excels.
