Today we unveil prospects #16-#20!
#16 C Cameron Krutwig (Jacobs – 2017)
Last Year’s Rank: #24
The Loyola commit has great size and strength at 6’9” with a big and powerful body. He is physical on the interior getting deep post position and rebounding in traffic. Knows how to use his body to get position and seal his man off. Shoots a high percentage and is light on his feet for his size. Outstanding passer both with outlets and passing out of the post when the double team comes. This might be where he shines the most.
#17 SF Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
THT continues to prove anyone that has doubted him wrong. This kid just produces. He did it last year for Simeon as a sophomore and continued that with the Mac Irvin Fire on the grassroots circuit this summer. Continues to get in better shape which has increased his athleticism. Horton-Tucker is a versatile player that can shoot it from the perimeter, handle it, sound passer, and is a plus rebounder. Mid-major plus prospect.
#18 PG Xavier Castaneda (Whitney Young – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Castaneda could be the next star for the Dolphins. The point guard has speed in the open floor where he is at his best pushing it and getting others involved. Works well around screens where he uses his ball handling to create separation which allow him to see the floor and hit pull up jumpers. Solid feel for the game and has a chance to be a mid-major plus prospect at the next level.
#19 SG Drew Peterson (Libertyville – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: #40
Peterson is one of the higher upside players in the class of 2018. He is a long and lanky 6’7” shooting guard that is a smooth athlete. Great ball handler that has it on a string with his ability to get where he needs to get his shot off. Likes to attack the cup with his speed in transition. Solid jump shooter and just an all-around scoring threat. Once he adds strength watch out!
#20 SF Bryant Brown (Waukegan – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Brown is oozing with upside! He has a long and lanky frame with plus athleticism. Brown is extremely quick operating on the interior and getting his shot up. High points rebounds and can handle it himself going coast to coast. Potential as a wing on both ends of the floor, but right now is more of a combo forward.
