Christian Negron to Loyola
The state’s top 2017 power forward has made his college decision. Larkin senior four man Christian Negron has held the status of the top player at his position from wire to wire. He has informed PrepHoopsIllinois that he has made his decision to commit to Loyola.
Negron told us why they were his choice.
“Trust Moser and his staff. Feel like I can contribute to the success they’ve had the past 2 years.”
He is a 6’6” slightly undersized post that utilizes his bounciness and motor on the interior to make up for his lack of ideal height. He is quick on the interior with his moves and has the ability to face up where he can hit a mid-range jumper or take his man off the bounce a couple dribbles. Solid offensive rebounder with a quick second jump and uses his length both laterally and vertically to be effective on the defensive end of the floor. He will be an outstanding energy four man at the college level.
Negron played with the Mac Irvin Fire in the Nike EYBL this past summer. He is the #1 power forward in Illinois and #7 overall prospect in the class.
