“I expect it to be fun,” said DeJulius. “I’m going to watching them run through some drills then I’m going to play against them then the football game.”
DeJulius is that rare kind of recruit that has legitimate D1 options prior to his junior season.
This month he expects several high major coaches to swing through East English Village Preparatory Academy.
“Michigan, MSU, Iowa, and Iowa State that I know of,” offered DeJulius early September.
In fact, the list is much, much longer. Oakland came through recently. Detroit and DePaul have already offered like the Oakland Grizzlies.
Creating Opportunity
DeJulius played for an electric 16u outfit this past summer. The Family 16u featured numerous HM players. PrepHoops.com featured a particular scrum against King James Shooting Stars 16u. DeJulius was great that day, with coaches from across the Midwest watching.
The Wolverine’s were in Suwanee, Georgia that day. They were in South Carolina later in the month too. DeJulius steadily proved his value.
Now he has been invited to visit the pristine Ann Arbor campus.
“Michigan is a very prestigious school, so I know it will be great because not everyone gets this opportunity,” said DeJulius.
The honor is not lost on him, but in about a year schools like Michigan are likely to be honored David is visiting.
