After a relatively successful sophomore season last winter and a productive offseason, Hyde has earned some initial interest from a variety of college programs .
“Some schools recruiting me are Northwood University, Cleveland State and Northern Illinois — all three have called me. And then I have letters from Indiana Wesleyan and Lindenwood out of Missouri,” said Hyde, who acknowledged that the recruitment process is still in its infancy.
“It’s kind of early in the process, so there’s not really one that stands out showing the most interest.”
A versatile small forward with some very decent size, Hyde explained his playing style to PHMI.
“Pretty much I try and do everything. I can go in the post or play the perimeter,” said Hyde. “I’ve been working a lot on my perimeter game and taking advantage of mismatches and stuff. And If I get a rebound I’m able to take it all the way up the floor, and I’ll just keep my head up and take it myself.”
With his junior season just months away, Hyde — who started last season as a sophomore — says his role will include a lot more leadership this season.
“I’ll definitely need to be a huge leader on the team, we lost a lot of seniors,” said Hyde. “And we’re going to be a young team, but I’m really confident in our young guys — this summer we looked really good. And I’ll just need to lead the team pretty much.”
