Bruninga made another huge jump after backing up his spring with a strong July going from #68 to #35 in the latest rankings. He shot the ball well again which is his biggest asset, but what impressed us was his ability to shot fake and go around his guy along with fighting on the interior. PrepHoopsIllinois chatted with the 6’6” four man about playing with the Illinois Irish.
“As a team we played really well throughout July. We won a lot of games and got better every game! Personally I think I improved my game in a bunch of different ways that will help me going into my senior season.”
The forward talked about his skill set that he will bring to a team at the next level.
“Someone that can get to the basket off the dribble and then stretch the floor with the three point shot. Also can be a pretty good area rebounder.”
What is going on with his recruitment?
“I still hold three offers from Winona State, Wisconsin-Parkside, and Minnesota State Moorhead. I’ve been in contact with coaches from SIUE, Murray State, Eastern Illinois, and Furman. I also attended the Evansville elite camp and have been in contact with them.”
Any visits lined up?
“I haven’t taken any officials yet, but I’m getting an unofficial to Wisconsin-Parkside scheduled.”
He let us in on whether he has a timeline for a decision.
“I honestly haven’t made up a time table yet. If the right school comes along that I fall in love with I might sign this fall. If not I’ll wait until the season plays out.”
What are going to be key factors in the right school for him?
“Just somewhere that I feel comfortable at and a coaching staff that I would enjoy playing for.”
