What is Shayne doing to get ready for his final year so his Zephyrs can get past round one of the sections and to the 20-win area?
“Over the next three months will be a lot of gym time both with and without my team, Parker Fox is a gym rat and loves getting guys in the gym,” Shayne said.
“Open gyms will be important for us to gel together as a team and really run hard and challenge each other to get better, we have a lot of good players and I’m excited to show everybody what we can do.”
Parker and Shayne were teammates on Minnesota Heat Vang which was a 40 plus win squad.
“I’d say the biggest experience overall that made me a better basketball player was constantly playing against top, high-level competition,” said Frost. “It forces you to be calm, smart, and really play your hardest.
“Also, having the great coaches I’ve had since 14U in Vince Calistro and Conner Nord, they became family and they really took me under their wing and made me a better player. Then having the chance to have Willie Vang my last year was a big part in the player I’ve become.”
Shayne us hearing from division three and NAIA programs at the moment and will continue to think over his best options for college basketball.
“I recently visited Augsburg so they’ve shown strong interest, I’ve been in contact with Valley City State and Briar Cliff as well. Other than that I’ve received letters from Concordia-Moorhead, Viterbo, St. Mary’s, Mount Marty, and a few other schools.
There are a couple NAIA schools that Frost would like to see soon.
“I don’t have any planned, but I want to get out to Briar Cliff and Valley City State,” Frost said. “Other than that, just kind of feeling things out with new schools, always open to new opportunities.”
