He’s not satisfied though, and is eager to showcase himself this season and hopefully pick up some late interest from higher level programs.
“I have an offer from Madonna. I picked that up this summer while playing AAU,” said Rogers. “And I have interest from UM-Dearborn and Concordia (MI). I would probably say UM-Dearborn would probably be the next to offer.”
Rogers visited Madonna last month.
“It was good, I like the coaches a lot,” he said.
But still, he hopes for more opportunities to come his way.
“Hopefully I can get better offers and hopefully my recruitment gets better and I’m going to work my hardest to make that happen.”
The good-sized forward is able to score in a variety of ways, and he broke down his playing style in his own words.
“My jump-shot is improved, and I can take people off the dribble a lot, and I can play defense,” said Rogers. “I probably need to work on my ball-handling the most right now. I’m in the gym two hours everyday, putting in work, trying to get better.”
As a junior Rogers says he averaged 19.4 points, 11 rebounds and 3.4assists per game. This season a goal is to be one of the better clutch players in Michigan.
“This year I need to take over more in crunch situations and make sure things happen, and make sure our team wins games,” said Rogers, who mentioned another personal goal of his.
“I’m trying to get more offers to play college basketball.”
