“I expect a very strong senior season from myself and I expect to show I’ve made large improvements,” said Ethan. “As far as team goals we want to make another big run in the state tournament and be a top team in the conference.
North has played in three of the last five state title games, won a state title in 2014, and has been to state the last five straight seasons. Coach John Oxton is the leader and Igbanugo is grateful to have Oxton as the leader of the program.
“He has taught me the importance of good team play on offense and especially defense and advised me what I need to improve on every year,” Ethan said. “I think he’s taken us from just a good program to a great program.”
As far as Ethan goes he spent his spring and summer months playing Grassroots basketball with Wear Out the Net. WOTN was a 30 plus win team and ranked top en in the state. It was a part of Ethan’s off-season work.
“I plan to keep working on my physical strength and skills like ball handling and shooting,” Ethan said.
“As a team we have open gyms twice a week and sometimes we go to lifetime fitness together just to get as comfortable with each other.”
Two MIAC schools are talking to Ethan regularly.
“I receive the most texts from St. Thomas and Augsburg,” Ethan stated.
