Their next standout guard is 2019 point guard Eric Cannon. He flashed ability as a freshman and took even more steps this past summer on the circuit with the Illinois Wolves 15U. Cannon is a floor general that likes to run a team and get others involved. Excels in the drive and kick game as well as handling in tight spaces. As a scorer he is best hitting runners and mid-range jumpers. He enjoyed running the show for the Wolves.
“It has been fun. I think I have learned a lot under coach Kaminsky. I have learned how to be a point guard and how to control the team. It has been a little shaky with guys moving up and down, but overall it has been fun.”
With the Wolves success of sending point guards to the next level what have then specifically taught him to focus on in his development?
“Patience and learning how to control the speed of the game. Control my speed as a point guard. Learning when to go fast and when to slow it down. It has really helped me a lot.”
He told us what he feels his strengths are at this stage.
“Nice pull up jumper, knock down the open three, good ball handler, and control the tempo.”
