Expo Shooting Guards to Watch
Jared Martin 6’4 SG 2018 Saguaro – Martin has great length, is a coachable young man, and has good fundamentals. As a shooting guard, he extends the court well, does a good job of being in the proper help side position, and has solid athleticism that affords him the ability to attack the paint at will.
Jaden Lee 6’2 PG/SG 2018 Mesquite – Lee had a good showing in the Top 20 game at the TR3 Hoop Summit last weekend. He has shown maturity on the defensive end of the floor which can cause chaos for the offense due to his elite level athleticism.
Brennen Davis 6’4 SG 2018 Basha – Davis is another athletic wing from the class of 2018 who can get into the paint at any point in time. His length and athleticism also make him a force on the defensive end as he is able to stop the basketball, help teammates recover, and alter shots.
Amari Hudson 6’1 PG/SG 2018 Basha – Solid handle, good fill for the game, and can score in bunches. Physical driving style and bulldog on the ball defensively.
Kyle Fischer 6’3 SG 2018 Sunnyslope – The best rebounding two guard in the class of 2018. Crafty handle and competes at an extremely high level. He is a capable of shooter from deep off of the dribble or on the catch and is not afraid of contact on the drive.
David Exline 6’4 SG 2018 Mesquite – Physical and lengthy 2 who attacks the rim with aggression. He has developed a
more consistent jump shot which will aid him greatly with having an athletic point in Lee who gets in the paint frequently. Exline is also solid on the glass and plays with a gritty mentality.
Tyrese Eugene 6’0 PG/SG 2018 Ironwood – Despite size, he is a strong and athletic two guard. Plays harassing and tough on ball defense. He can shoot the basketball from deep as well. He can be a little streaky but when he gets hot, he can let it fly. In addition, he is a physical driver with an array of moves.
Grant Greabell 6’2 SG 2018 Estrella Foothills – Probably the top
shooter in the class of 2018, one of the top at the Expo, and one of the top shooters in the entire state. Greabell puts the ball up with a lot of confidence and plays with an edge. He is a fundamentally sound two guard who plays mistake free basketball and does all of the little things that coaches love.
Trask Morgan 6’1 SG 2019 Mountain Ridge – Good sized two who can shoot the basketball at a high level. His length aids him in guarding multiple positions. Good motor as he does a good job crashing the glass. Moreover, he does a good job of finding his teammates when he gets into the paint.
Xavier Dussell 6’2 PG/SG 2020 Mesquite – Top tier shooter with good athleticism. He is a very talented young prospect with a lot of upside. He could afford to play with a little more “bulldog”, but his skill, athleticism, and talent level are through the roof for his age.
Dom Gonzalez 6’0 SG 2020 Ironwood – Lengthy freshman who plays with a lot of toughness. He is great on the glass, competes at an extremely high level on the defensive end of the floor. Moreover, he has a good handle, a solid basketball IQ, and a fluid shot. He is still young and can be streaky, but he has shown an ability to shoot it at a high level as he hit 3 threes multiple times this summer while playing in the 17U group for Ironwood and AZU.
