PJ Pipes to Wisconsin Green Bay
One of the most undervalued prospects in the state has made his college decision. Lemont 2017 point guard PJ Pipes has informed PrepHoopsIllinois of his commitment on Wisconsin Green Bay on Saturday. He told us why they were his choice.
“I chose it because I felt like it was the perfect fit for me offensively wise and defensively. The coaches believed in my abilities and wanted nothing, but the best for me. It also felt like home and a place I wanted to be for four years!”
The senior talked about how his new staff will utilize his strengths as a player in their system.
“They said they love what I bring to the offensive table scoring, distributing and making other players better. They also like how I can guard multiple positions and don’t have to stick to just guarding the point guard.”
Pipes is a super productive guard whether it is for his high school team at Lemont or on the grassroots circuit for the Illinois Stars. The power guard is a scoring point guard that can get buckets from all three levels. He is probably best attacking the rim where he can use his strength and body control at the rim to finish through contact. Pull up jump shot has gained consistency over the last year. His ability to run a team has made great strides as well and is a guy that people want to follow.
He is the #17 overall prospect in the class of 2017 and #6 point guard. Pipes joins Joliet West small forward Trevian Bell to give UWGB a great duo from Illinois.
