Markese Jacobs (Uplift)
Jacobs is a 5’11” lead guard that can flat out go! The Uplift rising sophomore is a strong and compact lead guard that has tremendous speed and burst with the ball in his hands. Accelerates in transition and wins at the rim finishing against bigger guys by using great body control. Sound pull up jump shooter from 15 feet and can stretch out to three on occasion. High-major point guard.
Kejuan Clements (Simeon)
Clements is one of the better lead guards in his class. Saw minutes as a freshman for Simeon. He is a smooth operator on the perimeter with the ball in his hands. Plays under control and is confident at all times. Clements can hit a three point shot every now and then. Defensively his length causes problems for the opposing point guard. Like the upside here.
Marquise Walker (St. Joseph’s)
Walker is one of the more mature lead guards in this class. Got quite a bit of experience as a freshman at St. Joe’s, but was off the grassroots radar playing for a Florida team. Walker puts a lot of zip on his passes and has vision in the transition game. Potential on his jumper. Can hit a mid-range baseline J and a catch and shoot three. Defensively pressures the basketball.
Joseph Yesufu (Bolingbrook)
When the rock is placed in his hands he changes the game with his speed and court vision in the open floor. Yesufu has tremendous speed pushing it and blowing by defenders. The strong guard has a sick euro step in the lane that he uses on occasion. Jump shot is a bit streaky.
Dashon Enoch (OPRF)
He is built like a truck with a physical body and he knows how to use it to his advantage. The 2019 guard is quick and aggressive getting up into his man creating turnovers defensively. On the other end he does an outstanding job accelerating with the ball and attacking the hoop where he scores through traffic with ease. Has slick handles and uses a nice euro step in the lane. Jump shot also has potential out to three. Distributes it well in the half court getting others involved.
Jamir Price (Rock Island)
Price is a 6’0” 2019 combo guard from Rock Island that might not wow you with production quite yet, but there is no doubting the physical tools are all there. He has a good build with athleticism. Handles well in the open floor pushing it. Explosive first step. Flashes creativity as a passer. Potential D1 prospect.
Nolan Niego (Lyons Township)
The younger brother of Harrison and Connor plays with the same competitive fire and spirit of his older brothers. Nolan is a sound perimeter shooter that can knock them down with regularity especially spotting up. Good shooter off the dribble as well. You have to like how Niego runs his team and gets everyone involved. High IQ and makes crisp passes. Defensively he has the mindset to get up into his man and guard them hard.
Zach Touissant (Johnsburg)
Touissant has garnered a nickname from us and that is the “Baby Faced Assassin.” He literally looks like he is 10 years old out there on the 15U level, but he can flat out shoot the rock. Tremendous range pulling up from deep and drills them off the catch as well. Quick stroke with repeatable mechanics. One to watch especially if he grows taller than the 5’10” he is currently listed at.
Tyrese Shines (Lyons Township)
Shines is a long and rangy 2019 6’1” Lyons Township guard with size. He has speed in transition pushing the ball from end to end. Super athletic finishing around the hoop. One to track closely over the next few years!
Eric Cannon (Waubonsie Valley)
He flashed ability as a freshman and took even more steps this past summer on the circuit with the Illinois Wolves 15U. Cannon is a floor general that likes to run a team and get others involved. Excels in the drive and kick game as well as handling in tight spaces. As a scorer he is best hitting runners and mid-range jumpers.
