It might not necessarily always be the highest rated prospect in the program either although it very well could be.
The Celtics/Hoopers made a name on the NY2LA circuit this spring and summer in a major way. On a quality team it was one man that led the way and that is why Bolingbrook 2017 small forward Nana Akenten is our program MVP.
At 6’6” Akenten is a big wing that can really score. Emerged last summer and took on a bigger role for a Bolingbrook team that lost a lot of key pieces. Then in the spring he took it up another notch. Quite simply Akenten was one of the most dominant players we saw on the circuit. He was one of the leading scorers in the NY2LA Association. Akenten is a wing that takes and makes tough jump shots from both mid-range and three. Gets his jumper off in the blink of an eye off the bounce. Explosive athlete that can finish above the rim. Established himself among the top wing prospects in the state of Illinois with his play.
Congrats to Nana on winning the Celtics/Hoopers Program MVP award!
