Vantage Hoops will be in the gym throughout the day for what is shaping up to be an outstanding event. Below, we highlight some sophomore point guards to keep an eye on at E80.
Evan Buckley | Stone Bridge
Fresh off a productive summer with Team Loaded featuring a number of tournament championships, Evan Buckley looks poised to take the next step in his sophomore season. The high IQ point guard demonstrates an advanced feel for the game to go with some moxy. Buckley’s recruitment has begun to take shape, as he’s recently landed his first two offers from American and New Hampshire.
Judah Jordan | Capitol Christian
Judah Jordan really made a name for himself this summer with his play for Team Durant. The crafty and skilled guard is becoming stronger and more athletic as he continues to grow into his body. Penn State and Hampton each handed out scholarship offers to the dynamic young lead guard.
Sherif Kenney | Rock Creek Christian
At 6-foot-4, Sherif Kenney possesses an exciting blend of skill and feel to go along with an ideal frame for a lead guard at the next level. Kenney’s ability to score from multiple areas and his exceptional basketball IQ make him a name to watch for years to come.
Johnathan McGriff | Bishop McNamara
Johnathan McGriff is simply sensational with the ball in his hands. Good luck staying in front of the Team Durant PG when he drops his shoulder and makes his move. McGriff exhibits the characteristics of a very reliable playmaker for years to come.
Justin Moore | DeMatha
Prior to a minor foot injury which sidelined him for the latter part of the summer, Justin Moore was perhaps the most consistent performer at his position we’ve seen in the 2019 class. Moore demonstrates the total package on both ends of the court. Moore is an extremely versatile guard who plays with a great deal of aggressiveness and a very high motor. His to consistently hit shots from the perimeter, get in the lane and finish or create, and rebound make him a very attractive prospect.
