This is how this works. We are going to list a select group of kids and list where there stock is now and where it rose up from (ABC order). Here we go starting with North Dakota….
Montel Carlow. Montel may have been the best 17U guard in the ECI program for awhile this summer, he was certainly the most consistent for a stretch. The Solen guard was consistent, tough, hit open shots, and took care of the ball.
Wyatt Carr. Carr has always been a dependable guy but with his Phenom teammates not always making it to games consistently, it was Carr that could be trusted game in and game out to score, lead, rebound, and whatever else. Has four schools that want him badly right now.
Cole Gendreau. After a big high school season the question was if Cole could do something similar against a higher level of AAU competition. The overwhelming answer was yes as he had a great year for the North Dakota Phenom and earned al state honors.
Kaedyn Hanson. The Dakota Cougars were the top team in North Dakota this year beating some of the best 16U teams in our area at the GPA event. Kaedyn’s frame, agility, and explosive play around the basket had NSIC programs sliding over to his games time and time again in St. Cloud. Hanson was really good at some August camps too.
Lucas Meyer. The power forward was basically a frontcourt role player for Century this winter but with ECI (and likely with Century this winter) Lucas was a high effort dependable big that could post up and score, catch ten feet from the rim and produce, and he was always a high energy player off the ball.
Jordan Polynice. When D1 schools were coming to watch potential in the North Dakota 2018 class, who did they go see? It was Polynice who was playing up this year at 17U. Polynice had three different D1 programs watch him play in July and they liked his versatility.
Siman Sem. Had a really nice July, especially in Las Vegas at the end of the summer. Sem has always had potential but what made him stand out was his effort as a defender on and off the ball and making decisions with the ball. Minnesota State Moorhead is trying to jump in and grab him.
Ty Setness. The power forward from Davies was solid for the D-17s in Grassroots events and then led his team to a Courts Plus Championship recently scoring 25 in a 31 point win. It was his team’s third straight year winning the Courts Plus Summer League.
Josh Sipes. The Century product was one of ECI’s most consistent players and showed that he can play in a physical way going towards the basket and is comfortable away from the cup making decisions and getting consistent production without the ball as a guard/wing.
Collin Trottier. His performances in Sioux Falls during the Summer Slam event grabbed the attention of schools and he did much of the same at recent camps grabbing an offer from Jamestown. He’ been immovable inside and is taking his game away from the paint more to produce with a nice touch.
Here are the top ten July Stock Raisers in North Dakota from this past summer led by some top 2018 players who made a big name for themselves.
