Last winter as a junior Zach took just under half of his 329 shots (in 26 games) at the three-point arc. Zach made 37 percent of those attempts (about six a game) at the arc despite defensive attention that knew he would be releasing from the arc.
Dahlen scored 15.5 points per game last winter with 5.6 rebounds a night and then gave some of the same to the ECI Prospects this winter.
“Some of my top experiences playing AAU would have to be creating lots of new friends and making memories,” said Dahlen. “AAU made me better because it’s a different style of play than school ball.
“It also made me a better player playing on team with some other very good players from around the state and learning how to play with them.”
Dahlen is now getting ready for football but he needs to keep that stroke sharp so he plans to get shots up regularly as well.
“I play football and to prepare for the basketball season I lift every day and plan on going to the gym and getting my teammates there as much as possible throughout the football season,” said Dahlen.
Dahlen is a really good football player as well so he’s getting interest from both sports.
“Minot State, SD School of Mines, Lake Region State, Concordia-Moorhead, and St Johns (MN) have all been in contact,” said Dahlen about basketball. “Minnesota State-Moohead and U of Mary have been in contact for football.”
A college choice is a ways off for Dahlen.
“No planned visits at the moment and I am unsure at what school I want to go to yet.”
