ECI went on a strong stretch of seven or eight wins in their last nine/ten games. Those games were played in St. Cloud (MN), Milwaukee (WI), and Sioux Falls (SD) and every step of the way the team got better.
“I’d say the best experiences were in the last couple tournaments when we started winning a lot more games and playing a lot better, and it helped by letting us figure out how to win games and how to play as a team,” said Mayer.
Watching every 8am game, 10pm game, and all in between, was the red of Minot State and the blue/orange of U of Mary.
“I’m hearing the most from U of Mary and Minot State,” said Mayer. “No new schools to visit but I will be visiting Mary and Minot State again soon.”
With Dalton Feeney, Luke Leingang, and Adam Geiger moved on to college Mayer has the frontcourt position to play nearly the entire game along with Kade Amundson. Mayer is now a team leader.
“I need to get the whole team in the weight room and we need to be getting a lot better physically,” Lucas said.
Mayer shot 57 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the foul line last year averaging 4.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 12.5 minutes a game which is quite impressive.
