“I plan on getting in the gym, working on everything, and being a leader for the team,” said KyJuan of his final year.
A way he prepared for college basketball and this final run was by playing with North Dakota Phenom again.
The Phenom won 23 of 39 games this year and KyJuan’s favorite experience was playing Team Penny which was one of the best Nike EYBL teams this year (they made the final eight bracket play at the Peach Jam).
“Playing against an EYBL team was a great experience (in the KC Hardwood Classic), it was not physical and a faster pace game,” said Johnson.
KyJuan has a couple NSIC schools that have offered as well as a local NAIA showing the most interest.
“I’m hearing most from Minnesota State-Moorhead, Jamestown, and the U of Mary,” Johnson said.
KyJuan has been to both NSIC schools, wants to see the other program.
“I think I’m going to visit Jamestown soon,” said Johnson.
KyJuan started every game for Minot leading them in steals, assists (4.3 a game), and scoring (12 a night), and he was second on the team in three-point shooting (43.6%) and second in field goal percentage overall (51.2%).
