Graham could recall two schools that had sent him mail (though he did mention there others he could not recall), and explained to PHMI why he may be a bit under-recruited.
“I have a lot of letters of interest; Toledo and IPFW have sent mail, and that’s it that I can think of — and it’s just letters so far,” said Graham.
“I feel like I am under the radar. I think the school I’m at has not been very good at basketball, so we get overlooked as a program. But this year I think we’ll be able to prove who we are, and who I am.”
A versatile defensive player, Graham is one of the biggest players on his high school team, and says it’s allowed him to play multiple positions effectively.
“I’m a great rim-protector and I’m good from the wing, being able to create my own shot,” he said. “I’m training my mile time, and I’ve been getting stronger because that’s my weakness right now.”
He spent his spring and summer playing on the 17U circuit with the Michigan Warriors, and was able to play at the small forward, which he considers his most natural position.
“I was one of the starting five and I played the three,” he said. “We had a lot of great players so I was able to play my real position that I want to play in college.”
As he prepares for his senior season with the Falcons, Graham says his role not only be to produce more than any other player, but also to lead.
“This year I’m going to have to be one of the biggest leaders on the team because everyone is going to be looking up to me as the best player on the team,” he said. “And I’m going to work harder so they work hard.”
