Continue ReadingEthan Schuemer put himself on our radar with his play for Mercury Elite 16U in July. The Willowbrook 6’5” combo forward plays with a tremendous motor and was always around the basketball. His activity level and length helps him blocking shots on the defensive end. The forward got on the offensive glass for put backs. Played mostly inside, but showed he could put it on the deck a couple times from the mid-range.
How was July with Mercury Elite?
“It has gone well. Our chemistry we gelled together. We got off to a slow start, but as the summer has gone along we really played as a team.”
What are the strengths of his game?
“Rebounding is probably my strong suit. Attacking the rim from the perimeter and posting up.”
He spoke about playing with his high school team in June.
“It went well. We took third in the Riverside Brookfield League. We have a lot of guys from last year back. I think we will be pretty good.”
Northern Illinois and Belmont are a pair of programs to express initial interest.
