“A top experience, one of them at least was when we played the Wisconsin Playground Warriors and lost to them at the Collin Powell Center, because of that loss, it made everyone on the team mad, and hungry,” said Davis.
“So we just put in more work until we ended up playing them again, and we beat them by almost 30 because we played together. The thing I took away from that was to trust and rely on my team more.
“Something more personal that helped me was Coach Duberry. He really helped work on me individually, helped with confidence, technique, he brought everything I had in me out of me honestly.”
Davis helped the Prospects to a 27-14 year, now he’s hoping to play a key part in the Champlin Park Rebels pushing for a state title. Davis and the team are focused and have been working together throughout the summer and into the fall.
“Preparation for the high school season has already begun,” said Davis. “The biggest thing for me I feel would be to put on more weight so the weight room has been a major key for me throughout the summer and will be headed into the season.
“Cardio is a huge one as well, just keeping myself up and running, and then just time in the gym, usually going to the nearest open gyms or Lifetime Fitness whenever I can, but when school starts next Tuesday I believe it’ll be great to get back into the gym to start the process, well continue it, and same pretty much goes for the team.
“The weight room, cardio, and gym time, we did pretty decent of getting work in over the summer together so when school starts things should continue keep progressing. Oh and Grades! Everyone has to get it right in the classroom first.”
Davis will play college basketball as the potential is there.
“I’m hearing from St. Johns, Sioux Falls, MNSU, that’s about it,” Davis said. “No college visits set up right now. And honestly I’d love to just go on visits wherever.”
