Ben Davis wing Aaron Henry is one from the class that has really started to build his game up in the last few months. The 6’5 prospect had a big summer playing with Team Harris 2018 and showing off an improved scoring ability and assertiveness.
The list of local programs showing some interest in Henry is long but he has been starting to rack up offers quickly. The latest of which is Ball State. They caught Aaron in July and after some staff meetings they decided to pull the trigger and extend an offer.
“Caught me off guard,” Henry said of the Ball State offer. “I knew they were interested but I like the school. Coach (Grunkemeyer) has sent me some pictures and videos of the campus. Just have to get on campus for a visit.”
Ball State joined Indiana State and IUPUI as the local programs to offer. Toledo has also offered a scholarship. Henry says that he’s also added a few new school to his interest list like UW-Milwaukee, Indiana, and Butler.
He’s a guy who was more of a shooter early on but has transitioned into a scoring threat in the mid-range. Now, he is starting to go back and gain some of that shooting ability.
“Really well,” Henry said of his summer. “Still have to work on catch and shooting. Only thing keeping me from high-major offers. My catch-and-shoot is the only thing holding me back. (Coaches) like my versatility guarding the 1-4 and my rebounding ability, scoring at all three levels as well.”
The class of 2018 is a light one for the state but expect Aaron Henry to be a name near the top here for quite a while.
