Continue ReadingLiberty High School had a very successful 2016 summer due in large part to their strong guard play. Dom Ciccaglione, 5’7″ 2017 PG, looked poised to have a great season as he contributed at a high level to assist the team in its success.
Ciccaglione plays club basketball for the Relentless organization, which is comprised largely of Liberty basketball players. As far as June and July are concerned, he did enough to make many teams worry about seeing Liberty on their schedule. This past season, the lions graduated two guards who went on to play college basketball; thus many were waiting to see what the group would look like in the off-season. They impressed to say the least.
Ciccaglione plays a huge role for Relentless and Liberty. He is unbelievable crafty and does a good job of changing pace after he makes a move. In addition, he is a strong shooter whom is capable of forcing the help side defense to play a step closer and to guard him on the catch.
As far as locker room presence is concerned, Ciccaglione is a leader who pushes his teammates to excel. Just from watching him play, it is quite apparent that he has a love for the game of basketball and a passion for being successful at it. Moreover, he stated that one of his goals for the next season is “to lead my team as far as possible.”
As far as defense is concerned, Ciccaglione is capable of guarding most PG due to his speed and competitive nature. In addition, with the style of play of Liberty, he is a huge asset as he has a good basketball IQ and anticipates passing lanes very well, and he is talented at turning the offensive player and steering them to the sideline or to traps.
Currently, he does not have any offers or interest. With that said, he is a good Mid-NAIA or NCAA Division II prospect.
