Carter played with Indiana Speice EYBL throughout the spring and summer, and says his job was to distribute and manage the game.
“My job was just to get the bigs involved. And I would control the pace of the game and make sure everything was under control,” said Carter.
“Playing AAU it wasn’t as intense as playing EYBL. There are a lot more better players, it’s more serious and more colleges looking on. I learned a lot this summer.”
As he shifts his focus towards his sophomore season with the Big Reds, Carter will look to make some improvements in his game, and contribute more than he did as a freshman,
“I want to improve on my jump-shot, and my strength is pretty much just my defense,” said Carter. “Freshman year I had playing time, but we had some seniors leave and I’m going to have to step-up, and go hard. It’d be nice to get a ring.”
Carter — Michigan’s 17th-ranked 2019 — also mentioned he’d like to see his recruitment start-up.
“And then maybe get some scholarships, and some offers,” said Carter, who’s seen no college interest yet.
“I’m looking forward to hearing from pretty much any schools really.”
