Jordan Goodwin to SLU
The state’s top prospect Belleville Althoff’s Jordan Goodwin has announced his college decision. In the last month behind the scenes three different schools have thought to have the advantage. On Friday Goodwin committed to play at St. Louis University. Goodwin immediately becomes the face of the Billikens program and is probably the top recruit they have had since they signed Larry Hughes back in the 1990’s.
How good is the Althoff standout? He is simply the best prospect in the state’s 2017 class. It is because of his insanely intense and never ending motor along with elite competitiveness that he will not let his team lose. Goodwin is a supremely physical wing that uses that strength to get in the lane where he scores through opponents. Along with that strength he has great body control to move the ball to get his shot off. Plus plus offensive rebounder that hits the glass better than almost anyone at any position in the state. Very good passer with a feel for getting others involved.
He will lead Althoff again as the favorite to repeat as state champions, this time in 4A. Goodwin played for the St. Louis Eagles during his grassroots career on the Nike EYBL circuit.
