Marcedus Leech 6’5″ St. Louis Eagles 17U (Poplar Bluff): The talented wing player has been playing with the 17U team for the past two weeks and he has been an asset with his perimeter shooting. Leech has deep shooting range, a quick release and also possesses some slick handles to create a shot for himself. Leech is ranked among the top 2019 players in the country. He has already garnered a number of offers from high major schools around the country.
E.J. Bellinger 6’2″ Gateway (Fort Zumwalt South): The long wing player enjoyed a productive weekend on the offensive end in helping Gateway to the Elite Eight of the tournament. The defense always has to be on alert when he gets the ball because he is looking to let it go. He displayed his quick release and 3-point range. E.J. is also a good player to watch in transition with his ability to finish on the break.
Jalen White 6’1″ Missouri Impact (Lutheran North): One of the more under the radar talents in the 2019 class, White has the ability to score and create buckets. Lots of them. He has a strong, physical body and he uses it well to get to the basket and score through contact. When the jumper is falling, you can put 20 points in the book.
Atavian Butler 6’2″ St. Louis Eagles (McCluer North): A slashing young swingman who is an impressive rebounder from the guard position. He is very athletic and has a desire to get the ball. Offensively, he is very good when he is driving to the basket and getting out in transition, where he is an excellent finisher.
Jesse Little 6’0″ Gateway (Soldan): The second half of a talented twin backcourt with his brother James. While James is the pass-first point guard, Jesse is a nice offensive player who excels off the ball. He is a fine 3-point shooter with good offensive instincts. He has good quickness and he handles the ball well enough to create shots.
Keelan Handy 6’3″ St. Louis Eagles (Chaminade): A long and lean wing player who has developed into a very effective all-purpose player this summer. He has the height and length to be a factor as a rebounder and defensive player. He gets a lot of his offense off of slashing drives and offensive rebounds. He was very active throughout the weekend. Like his athleticism and high motor.
Hayden Thomas 6’2″ Gateway (Twin Rivers): I have liked how this young man has developed over the course of the summer. It took a little time for him to adjust to the increase speed and athleticism of summer ball, but he has emerged as a solid backcourt performer who can handle and pass the ball with good fundamentals.
