It might not necessarily always be the highest rated prospect in the program either although it very well could be.
Next up is Jets/Ramey United and the Southwest Jets program. Our choice for their team MVP is Belleville East 2017 small forward Javon Pickett.
The 6’4” wing from the St. Louis metro east is probably the most overlooked elite prospect in the state of Illinois. He is a long and lanky wing with a projectable frame. Pickett has the ability to score at multiple levels with a smooth jump shot from mid-range and three. Also showed down the stretch in July how much he has improved his ability to score off the bounce. We continue to be impressed with how slippery he is through traffic getting to the rim and has gotten better at finishing through contact at the rim. Solid passer and rebounds well for his position. Pickett has already committed to Illinois.
Congratulations to Javon on winning the Jets/Ramey United program MVP award.
