It might not necessarily always be the highest rated prospect in the program either although it very well could be.
The Chicago Lockdown program MVP goes to Lyons 2017 power forward Connor Niego.
Just like always Chicago Lockdown teams across the board played fundamentally sound on both ends of the floor while playing team basketball. In the spring they featured unsigned senior Drew Evans who opened up a lot of eyes. The constant presence for this team throughout the spring and especially summer was Niego. Connor is a 6’8” power forward with versatility. He can beat a team in a variety of ways. Runs the floor extremely well consistently beating his man down the floor. Has the ability to face up his post defender and either take him off the bounce a couple dribbles or knock down a jump shot. The biggest area of growth for Niego was his toughness on the interior. He scored at a higher rate than we had ever seen in the paint and was outstanding rebounding during July for Lockdown. It was obvious he has been in the weight room over the last few months. Great team player that plays the game the right way.
Congrats again to Connor on winning the Chicago Lockdown Program MVP award.
