They had different guys step up at different times and it really showed the depth of talent. Trevor Lakes was the guy early on in the season and played his way into a few DI offers. However, he wasn’t as sharp in July but that is when Matt Jennings and Haden Deaton took over and lead this group in the last part of the season. Overall, this team found a lot of success and competed with many of the shoe sponsored teams they came up against.
Best Player: Trevor Lakes was really good in the Spring and college coaches were really interested in him from the start. His shooting started to take off and coaches were able to see him play as much more of a wing than a forward. They saw the upside of having a 6’7 shooter on the floor. His ball handling also started to improve and it allowed him to do a little more off the bounce than he had before.
Players To Watch: You could throw nearly anyone on this team in but I chose to talk about the player that not many have talked about, Mike Valle. The Whiteland wing is one of the more interesting players in this state. He’s 6’7 and plays like a guard with length for days and a ton of skill. He showed flashes of his upside as an all-around defender and a player that can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim to create some tough mismatches.
