-Strengths-
Length
A handful of our top forwards in the 2018 class in Arizona possess such great length which helps them all across the board. Some notable long athletes include: Tevy Jones, KJ Hymes & Christian Anigwe who’s length helps them on both ends of the floor and which is why these are just a few of the top 2018 forwards.
Front end of rankings have many Division 1 Bound Prospects
Many of the 2018 prospects have D1 offers and will be division 1 players when it’s all said and done. This is a very high level, talented class which is exciting for this great state of Arizona. Some D1 prospects include: Tevy Jones, KJ Hymes, Christian Anigwe, Timmy Allen, Bryce Davis, Jok Jok, & Jaxon Baker to name a few.
Versitility
Many of these wings/forwards have the ability to score by shooting the ball or attacking the rim using their length and quickness in mismatch situations. Some of these players include: Tevy Jones, Hymes, Mason Johnson, Timmy Allen, Bryce Davis, Baker, & Jok.
-Weaknesses-
Ball Handling
While there are some very talented forward in this class, few are great “high level” ball handlers. Timmy Allen & Tevy Jones, who could be both considered combo players, are the two best in the top 30 player/prospects. While the majority of these players are not poor ball handlers, if some of them can improve in this skill area, they could really elevate their level of play at the next level.
Depth of D1 players
The front end of this class of forwards is very high level but once you hit a certain point in the rankings the talent goes from D1 to NAIA/D3. With that said, nothing is wrong with that just the fact of the matter is, this class isn’t 20 deep of D1 players but this weakness is also a strength because many players will find homes at the D2,D3 & NAIA or JC levels which in their own right are great levels of basketball.
