Western Kentucky commit Mitchell Robinson Highlights
Chalmette 2017 C Mitchell Robinson surprised much of the nation with his commitment to Western Kentucky on June 29 but it wasn’t the first time the big man went off the beaten path. Robison was expected to attend traditional power Landry-Walker prior to the 2014-15 season but eventually enrolled at Chalmette in August of 2015.
Then a 4-star prospect, Robinson arrived on campus and immediately transformed Chalmette into a contender. The Owls finished 7-22 in 2014-15 but were 24-8 with a trip to the second round of the playoffs coming up short against eventual 5A champ Natchitoches Central, 53-45.
Robinson earned LSWA 1st-Team All-State honors after averaging 20.9 points, 13.6 rebounds, 8.1 blocks and 2.0 steals per game. He also shot 69 percent from the floor and had 8 triple-doubles on the season.
