Some of Arizona’s top prospects across the classes were lucky enough to grab invites to the prestigious west coast event. Silver & his staff have a keen eye for talent and over the past couple years have a strong reputation that is trusted by many coaches from all levels across the west coast. Here is a breakdown of some of the stand out in each of the games.
Top 20 2017 Game
Trey Checkett-Chaparral High School
Checkett’s skill was on display in a variety of ways, he defended multiple positions & also has shown he has improved his awareness off the ball which is very key. Trey continues to impress on the offensive end and his ability to score in the 2017 game was very apparent.
Cameron Miller-Salpointe Catholic High School
Miller continues to show his high basketball IQ and his savy. Cam can do a combination of things on the floor he has the ability to run the point or take it upon himself to be crafty and score in a plethora of ways. Cam has a tremendous ability to shoot the basketball.
Keith Holmes-Desert Ridge High School
Holmes is a strong guard who can get to the rim with ease & was one of the more impressive guards scene over the weekend just with his improvement of offensive skill, he continues to add facets of his offensive game, the more impressive one is just the previously mentioned ability to get to the rim, very quick with his first step, uses body well.
Top 20 2018 Game
Chris Orozco-Sunnyslope High School
Orozco has great feel for the game, can move well, can guard a variety of spots on the floor & is developing a dual threat from inside & outside on the floor. Look for Orozco to continue to impress this July!
Caden Hoffman-Chaparral High School
Hoffman was a pleasant surprise over the weekend, he has vastly improved since we last saw him. He is a great teammate and moved the ball very well for his squad. Does a lot of the little things on the floor.
Top 20 2019 Game
Trent Brown-Pinnacle High School
Brown might be one of the most savy & high IQ players in the west coast. He is never overwhelmed & has a cool & calm demeanor about himself on the floor. He is a great decision maker & was making big time plays throughout setting his teammates up for success. Brown is a deadly outside shooter as well.
Aidyn Albright-Horizon High School
Albright is just a stud outside shooter, at PrepHoops AZ we have seen him progress with his shooting ability but also is getting a better with his other guard skills, he continues to get better facing pressure and his decision making and feel for the game is very high.
Top 40 Game
Jok Jok-Moon Valley High School
Jok is a superior athlete and flies on the court. He is able to contribute on both ends of the floor & can rebound the ball very well. Jok Jok needs to continue to develop his all around skills but he is one of the more intriguing prospects on the west coast.
Josh Green-Mountain Ridge High School
Green is one of the flat out best in the 2019 class, very smooth guard who can finish well at the rim. He continues to develop and will be a scary prospect in the 2019 class soon to come.
Colten Kresl-Chaparral High School
Kresl has no fear. He backs down from no one & is the ultimate competitor. One of the biggest sleepers in the 2017 class in the west coast. Easily the biggest sleeper in 2017 class in Arizona. He can shoot the heck out of the basketball & also is a great distributor.
Patrick Kelly-Pinnacle High School
Kelly continues to impress west coast scouts & schools alike. He is moving well with his size & length and continues to
Top 20 Game
Jaxson Baker-Desert Ridge High School
Baker has a great weekend as he captured an offer from Northern Arizona University. The big fella was able to wow scouts & those in attendance with his skill inside & outside. He has good footwork & feel for the floor.
Nicco Mannion-Pinnacle High School
Mannion who has already picked up a PAC-12 offer before playing a HS basketball game showed why he is competing at a high level for Earl Watson Elite & was in this top 20 game. The high IQ’d guard can shoot the heck out of it and only keeps getting better and appears to be longer and taller each time we see him out on the floor.
