Luckily, the whole Vantage Hoops team was there to help cover. These five local guys aren’t new in any way, but they did help boost their stock in the final live period of the summer.
Rasir Bolton | 2018 Point Guard | Team Loaded VA
Kiyon Boyd and Rasir Bolton were great all season playing up with Loaded.Bolton has had a phenomenal summer so far, and his talents were on full display last week in the Adidas Uprising Championship where he took over numerous games in the second half to help lead Team Loaded VA to victories. Perhaps his most impressive one came in their come from behind win over SouthEast Elite, where Bolton scored all of his 17 points in the second half and Loaded came back from a 15 point halftime deficit to win. The playmaking point already had high majors all over him, and he scored a few new offers including Cincinnati and Ole Miss with his play.
Kiyon Boyd | 2018 Wing | Team Loaded VA
Another young Loaded player who has blown up this summer, Boyd showed why he’s one of the elite scoring wings on the east coast as he steadily filled it up from all over the floor. Boyd’s biggest strength is just that, his upper body strength. He has broad shoulders and a strong upper body that defenders seem to bounce off of when he’s attacking the rim, allowing him to easily finish plays through contact. The multidimensional scorer already holds a number of high major offers, and continues to put on a show when the stage calls for it.
Denmark Slay | 2017 Point Guard | District Basketball Club
In DBC’s thrilling overtime victory over Team Carroll of Alabama, Slay was nothing short of a stud as he set the tone on both ends of the floor and hit big shot after big shot down the stretch for them. Defensively he pressured ball handlers, and showed grit and toughness beating opposing players to 50-50 balls and making ball handlers uncomfortable throughout the game He may have been the smallest guy on the floor, but his play was huge for his team as he finished with 20 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
Lavar Batts | 2017 Point Guard | Team CP3
Batts didn’t play in their first two games of the Big Foot Hoops “The Eight,” but he felt good enough to go in the championship against MOKAN Elite and he wasted no time making his presence felt. Despite a rolled ankle, he showed his blazing speed in transition, strapped up ball handlers defensively, saw the floor well and played with great energy and passion to propel them to the championship. His play on the biggest stage in Vegas had to make Chris Paul himself proud.
Oscar Tshiewebe | 2019 Power Forward | Team Loaded VA
Tshiewebe has been trending up the entire summer, mostly because no one really knew who he was before. He split time playing for the 16 and 17U teams, and wherever he played he showed the high motor, soft touch and tenacious rebounding ability that has him as one of the best players in the 2019 class. He’s still raw, but his college ready body and high upside have high majors intrigued, including Virginia Tech who offered this weekend.
