Under the direction of the Weaver brothers, Hillcrest Prep has become a basketball destination in prep schools in Arizona. They are starting to make waves nationally having some of the top prospects in the country and play a national schedule all over the country in front of the countries best coaches, against the country’s best talent. PrepHoops Arizona got a chance to speak with coach Nick Weaver about their squad and their top prospects:
Deandre Ayton 7’1 2017 will be playing in the Peach Jam for the Cal Supreme. Is ranked #1 by ESPN as the nations top prospect in the class of 2017. He will be trying to win the EYBL championship. After that he will be done rest of the summer and not playing in Las Vegas at the end of July.
Josh Green 6’5 2019 will be looking to pick up more offered since his UT Martin offer. He is currently being recruited by University of Wyoming in the Mountain West. He is also being recruited by Schools such as TCU, New Mexico State. Josh has played all spring and summer with the Oakland Soliders in the EYBL. He has left the Soliders and will be playing in nationals for Ryan Silver and the Earl Watson Elite in the UA championships.
Alfred Hollins 6’6 2017 is ranked in the ESPN top 100, he is ranked #92 overall in the country. He will be playing in the EYBL Peach Jam for the Oakland Soliders who he has played with for 2 years. Holds several PAC12 and Mountain West offers as of now. Is a dynamic scorer with/high major athlete.
Shamiel Stevenson 6’7 2017 has narrowed down his top schools to USC in the Pac12 where he has taken an offical visit , Arizona State where he will visit in the fall , Georgia Tech. He will be playing in the Adidas Gaunlet for the Colorado Hawks at nationals.
Markus Stevenson 6’6 2017 who is being recruited by NJIT , Wagner , George Mason will be playing in the UA Nationals with Jersey Force. Is planning on visiting NJIT and George Mason this fall. Markus is a big strong athletic wing that can really shoot it.
(Amauri Hardy will be a sleeper for high major programs)
Amauri Hardy 6’2 2017 who plays in the EYBL for The Family out of Detroit. Will be playing in the Peach Jam. He is rated by ESPN and has a scout grade of 80 overall. He holds offers from Kent State , Detroit , Toledo and Buffalo . He just attended the CP3 camp and had a solid showing.
