Comets DLR is our 11th-ranked team in the 17U rankings with an 18-11 record.
“This summer so far with Comets DLR has been super fun,” Kranz said. “We’ve really come together as a group, and being with some of the same guys has really helped that. Coach ‘Delo’ has definitely set the bar super high for us this year on where he wants to finish. We know that we can compete with any team and we showed that down in Dallas. Now we just really want to finish the year strong and bring home a couple more championships.”
Like many guys we speak with, Kranz is gaining college interest for more than just basketball. His skills in football might end up landing him a scholarship.
“St. Scholastica, St. John’s, Augsburg, Hamline, University of Wisconsin-Superior have all contacted me,” Kranz said. “Jamestown has talked to me about football. I just got done visiting Augsburg and St. Cloud State (the latter for football), and will have a visit with Hamline and St. John’s in the next month or so!”
Kranz prefers basketball, he tells NHR. He also has a few other criteria that he wants to find in his future college.
“I haven’t thought too much about my future career,” Kranz said. “But I definitely want my college to have a good educational system. I also want to be comfortable on the campus and have a good relationship with the coaching staff. I would like to have a rewarding experience when I am there.”
Comets DLR will play next weekend in the Sanford League Championships in Sioux Falls and the weekend after that in Las Vegas.
