The thick bodied point guard can knock down mid-range jumpers and has nice feel for running a team. We caught up with Evans who has been playing with Hoops Avenue this summer to get an update with the rising senior.
When his game is rolling what are his strengths?
“Getting to the rim. Penetrating the lane and kicking. Rebounding as well.”
During June the rising senior took a pair of visits.
“I went on a visit to UMass Lowell, Holy Cross, and Brown in June. Talked to NJIT.”
He spoke with us about his trio of trips.
“Holy Cross was on a hill so it had a lot of stairs. Beautiful campus. I enjoyed the players and coaches. Campus was real nice. Brown was nice as well with being in the Ivy League. UMass Lowell was nice. They were doing renovations on the gym so we got to see that before anyone else.”
What will be important in a school for him?
“The culture and the team. I want to come right in and be a part of the brotherhood. Also playing style. That’s why I like Holy Cross because they run the same offense we do at Loyola. Also academics.”
