The Thornapple Kellogg prospect has been proactive with his recruitment and mentioned several programs that have been showing considerable interest.
“I’ve been talking to a lot of schools. I went on a visit to Alma, and also Navy. And I’ve been talking to Albion, Trinity International, Goshen, Hope, and Calvin,” said Lark, who is a self-aware prospect.
“I know where I stand; I’m probably going to be an NAIA or D3 player, but wherever I go I just want to make an impact on the program right away.”
He added: “I think I could really see myself at either Alma or Albion. I mean I really like both of those schools, and I think ever since I was a freshman both of them have shown me the most interest.”
Lark is a well-built floor general who is among the strongest athletes in his school — he says that translates well for him to the hardwood.
“I think one thing that really separates me from a lot of players is the fact that I’m just a leader and I’m strong. I play football too, and I have the highest bench and the highest squat on the football team even,” he said. “And I think that translates really well to the court. Like sometimes if my shot isn’t falling, then I can get to the rim.”
This spring and summer the talented 2017 played his 17U ball with West Michigan Flight.
“I think I really developed my shot. During the school season I think I really relied on getting to the rim. But I was in the gym every morning before school getting shots up on the gun and I think that showed in AAU,” said Lark. “I shot the ball really well.”
After averaging 11.5 points and 5.5 assists per game last season with the Trojans, Lark says his role this season will be to lead.
“I’m going to be team captain,” he said. “And I know my coach is going to rely on me a lot to take a lot of shots, and just lead the team.”
