The Bellaire product is currently without any offers, but was able to identify two schools in particular which could be the first to do so.
“I have a lot of interest from; Navy, Wheeling-Jesuit, I’ve talked to Goshen College, Alma, Michigan Tech, Lake Superior State, a little bit of CMU earlier this year, a little bit of Oakland, a school called Trinity International, and another school called Rose-Hulman, and that’s about it as of now,” said Meriwether.
“I think it will either be Wheeling-Jesuit or Navy that will offer first. I went out last month and visited both schools, and sat down with both coaches for a long talk.”
Meriwether defined his style of play as a top-notch defender who picks his moments well offensively.
“My style of play is being really aggressive and attacking the hoop more than anything. And then I really like to lock-in on defense and guard the other team’s best player,” said Meriwether, who has been playing with Elite Nation this offseason.
“Everybody on our team can score, so I just try to play really good defense every game, and I attack the basket when I need to.”
With just one tournament left in his grassroots career, Meriwether explained what his goals are for this weekend’s live period.
“Goals for me is to acquire some offers,” he said. “And just get better as a person, and just go out and have fun playing one last time.”
