But after a big spring with Michigan Playmakers, Williams says his recruitment spiked. And he has three Division I programs hot on his trail right now.
“We won a lot of games in the spring, and my recruitment really picked up a lot after that. I wasn’t really getting recruited much before that,” said Williams.
“I‘d say American is recruiting me the hardest right now, I went on an unofficial with them. Oakland, and Wisconsin-Green Bay are also recruiting me.”
“Oakland for sure might be close to offering, they’ve been watching me all spring and I’m just waiting for it.”
A good-sized wing who specializes in shooting, Williams says his goal right now is to become an ultimate two-way player.
“I like coming off screens, and the strength in my game is my shooting, and passing too,” he said. “I really want to become more of a two-way player, so I can defend and score the ball. That’s the main thing I’ve been working on is defense.”
This weekend Williams will play in his last ever grassroots tournament, and one final live period event.
“My recruitment is a priority,” he said. “This is my last weekend so I have to give it all that I got.”
