The 6’5 wing is coming off his final grassroots season with EG10 where he had some standout games along the way. However, he was injured and missed most of June and still wasn’t 100% in July.
“Dislocated patella,” Cameron said of his injury. “I’m currently going through rehab. I don’t really know (how long), doctor says it depends on how fast I heal.”
Even with the injury, he was able to pull in some DI interest this summer. Schools like Florida International, UW-Milwaukee, East Carolina, and Grand Valley State have shown the most interest. Wilbon said that he will likely visit Grand Valley State sometime this Fall.
The reason a lot of school have begun showing interest is that Wilbon can be an extremely versatile player for a team. At 6’5, he’s very long and has a frame that is going to take on weight really well. He’s pretty athletic and could potentially defend multiple spots on the floor. Coaches think he could do quite a bit for them.
“They like the way I attack the basket and finish,” Wilbon said of his feedback from college coaches. “How I rebound the ball very well and my athleticism.
Wilbon has seen quite a few kids from his area go off to college and he understands some of the things he will be looking for in a potential landing spot this time next year.
“I want to play at the highest level,” Wilbon said of what he will look for.” Fast paced style of play but I’m looking for a college that is the best fit for me.”
