Continue ReadingIn the hoops scene nation wide there are hundred upon hundreds of prospects who are flying under the radar for many schools. The fact of the matter is, not every athlete is a division 1 athlete however as we all know, there are many other great academic institutions where young student-athletes can continue their education through the game of basketball. One of the greatest prides we can take at a site such as PrepHoops Arizona is discovering those prospects and giving them some spotlight.
Prior to this July, PrepHoops Arizona has been aware of Brennen Davis a wing from Basha High School, who currently plays AAU for Alvin Gentry Elite. He was able to garnish some quality minutes for a very experienced and talented Basha team who made a deep run in the Arizona Division 1 playoffs. Piggybacking off of great varsity experience he went right into the AAU season with confidence and a search for more seasoned experience.
Early in the spring he was able to gain the interest of many division 1 schools and spent time visiting Pepperdine during their elite camp and was able to get a small taste of division 1 life. However, despite beginning to get some feeler interest from division 1 schools, he has yet to receive a early offer or more serious interest, look for that to change over time as Davis is a very intriguing prospect. Looking at Brennen at 6’5 with his length, he brings a lot of natural athleticism. He is a 2-sport varsity athlete, and if he wanted to could play college baseball at some level as well. He has athleticism that can very much translate to the next level.
Davis does a lot of the little things on the floor, he moves well without the ball, crashes the boards hard (while rebounding well), defending multiple positions, not afraid to get on a loose ball, or take a charge. Last week at the event in Kansas City run by Jerry Mullens he took 14 charges. You read that right! 14 charges over the weekend. He is not afraid to get a little aggressive on the floor which is what many programs need, is a young man like Brennen.
The rest of this viewing period Brennen will be with AGE in Atlanta and in Las Vegas to finish the viewing period where he looks to pick up more serious interest. The strong slashing wing is also a great young man outside the court & in the classroom.
Keep tabs on Brennen at PrepHoops Arizona.
