The 6-foot-5 2018 is seeing some initial college interest come his way in both sports right now, but he’s remaining patient and is going to let the recruitment unfold before he commits to a sport.
“Baseball or basketball, I’m not really sure yet,” said Bosma. “I’ll have to wait and see my options with recruitment and stuff. But a couple schools have talked to me for baseball, and a couple for basketball.”
“(For basketball) I’ve gotten letters from Central Michigan and Detroit-Mercy. And then I’ve gotten some mail from Davidson and Kent State. Just letters and invitation to camps so far,” said Bosma, who mentioned he’s been reached out to by Davidson and Michigan State for baseball
“I want to be patient with it and see what my options are, and then make my decision based on that.”
On the hardwood he prides himself on being a versatile threat on both ends of the floor.
“I take the ball to the basket, that’s probably my best asset. And I can shoot a little bit so people have to guard me out there, and if they do I can drive past them,” said Bosma. “And defensively I have a good post presence, and I can block a lot of shots, and force the defense to make mistakes.”
Though he spends most of his summer playing basketball, and he doesn’t play with a grassroots hoops squad, Bosma says he still finds plenty of time to get into the gym and hone his skills.
“I get in the gym whenever I can and we played a bunch of team camps in June. And then in July I try to go to as many workouts as I can and just get in the gym whenever I can,” he said.
“I think my ball-handling should improve, and just being aggressive at the appropriate times and being passive at the appropriate times is what I’d like to improve also.”
