The 6-foot-3 shooting guard has yet to see any real interest come in yet, but has been mulling over some schools he could see himself playing with at the next level.
“I’ve been going through some schools with my dad just to see who I might have a chance to play for and getting some videos out and stuff,” said Dietz.
The sharpshooting junior-to-be takes great pride in his outside shooting, and wants to become one of Michigan’s best shooters. He defined his exact skill-set to PHM.
“I’d say my main strength is probably my perimeter shooting, and I’m pretty athletic I’d say. My style of play is I’m not too chippy, but I am pretty aggressive.”
During his 16U season he played with Team Basketball out of Rochester, and he worked to better his defense and to perfect his jumper.
“I was mainly just trying to get better at my defense and trying to improve my shooting and to become one of the best shooters in the state,” said Dietz. “And I was also focusing on really just becoming a better teammate and stuff like that.”
Now he shifts his focus to high school ball. And after averaging 18 points last season as a sophomore, it will be scoring and leadership that he’ll look to provide this season.
“My team depended on me a lot last season, but I enjoy that,” said Dietz. “And next year I’ll have to be more of a leader, and I’ll still have to score and assist, and I’ll probably have to be more of a perimeter ball-handler.”
