He’s been using NCSA to effectively reach out to some Division III schools so far, and with three July live periods left in his career, he’s got those three opportunities left to turn some heads.
‘We have a couple tournaments coming up and I’m looking to play pretty well in those. My recruitment is definitely a priority right now. I’m looking at some colleges, and talking to some,” said Drummond.
“I’ve been talking to a couple D2s and a lot of D3s like Hood College, McDaniel, Anderson (IN). They’ve been asking me to come to their camps and stuff.”
Drummond went on to explain what his strengths are to PHM, and mentioned what area of his game he’d like to improve most as he heads into his senior season with Urbana.
“I think I’m pretty smart on the court. I have good vision, and I can shoot it; I know how to score. And also I use my athleticism to my advantage. Most people don’t think I’m very athletic, but I’m pretty athletic,” he said.
“I need to put on some weight this summer, that’s my main thing. I’m going to increase my lifting and try to put on at least 15 pounds.”
After transferring into Urbana for his junior season last year, Drummond says he’s looking to be the team’s leader this upcoming winter.
“Last year I had just transferred in from St. Maria Goretti, so I had to spend some time to get my chemistry right with my teammates,” he said. “This year I want to be more of a leader, and my main goal is to just win regionals and make state.”
