And since his recruitment has not yet begun — no interest from anywhere yet — he’s wide-open.
“I consider myself to be really good at passing and shooting. I’m a good spot-up shooter, and I’m really good at finding the open man and getting them the ball,” said Nyp.
“I’d like to start seeing some letters and stuff come in with my recruitment. That’s my goal – I’d like to play at any level college-wise, so any letters would be great.”
This spring and summer the 2018 forward played grassroots ball with the West Michigan Lakers’ 16U squad.
“One of the things I was really trying to improve on was my agility and strength, and I think my spring and summer went pretty well,” said Nyp. “I got a little bit stronger, and added about 10 pounds of muscle.”
Now he will start to prepare for his junior season with the Wildcats, and he says he could move into a starting role due to his improved defense.
“Last year I was more of a role player, probably the third or fourth guy off the bench. This year I see myself being either a starter or like the first guy off the bench,” said Nyp. “My skills have really improved, and my defense was one of my my weaknesses last year, and I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better at that.”
