SG Mitch Mascari (Illinois Stars 15U)
Mascari is a 6’3″ shooting guard from Geneva High School. The 2019 prospect opened our eyes with his slick ball handling in the half court. He was able to get where he needed on the floor to operate. Smooth perimeter stroke as well hitting a few triples off the catch. Passing flare in the half court.
SG Anthony Fairlee (Illinois Irish 15U)
Love the upside with this 6’3” shooting guard from Springfield Southeast! Fairlee is an ELITE athlete that can jump out of the gym. His combination of size, strength, speed, and out of this world hops make him very intriguing. Great in transition finishing above the rim. The skill set is starting to come along. Hit a few jump shots in one of the contests we saw with improved form and elevation. Plus defender that moves well laterally. Needs to be on the D1 radar early in the process.
SG Jirehl Brock (Illinois Irish 15U)
Brock was solid in the spring, but even better to open July. The 6’0” Quincy shooting guard is a dominant rebounder for his size being a force from the guard position on the boards. Has the ability to slash to hoop and is powerful finishing around the hoop. Consistent production throughout the event.
PF Karl Wright (Illinois Irish 15U)
Wright is a 6’5” power forward from Springfield Lanphier High School. The rising sophomore from central Illinois is uber athletic. Uses that along with his length and timing to swat shots on the interior. Offensively he is pretty raw at this stage beyond finishing dunks in transition or on offensive rebounds. Upside especially if he grows a few inches.
SF Sean Houpt (Illinois Irish 15U)
This lefty wing from Danville is a tough small forward that grinds it out on the defensive end. Moves well laterally and has the ability to grow into a shutdown defender. The wing can also hit spot up threes at a nice clip with a clean stroke.
SG Jamir Price (Quad City Elite 15U)
Price is a 6’0” shooting guard from Rock Island that might not wow you with production quite yet, but there is no doubting the physical tools are all there. He has a good build with athleticism. Handles well in the open floor pushing it. Explosive first step. Flashes creativity as a passer. Potential D1 prospect.
SG Deonte Billups (Quad City Elite 15U)
Billups is a strong and athletic 6’3” two guard from Moline High School. The 2018 prospect is a plus rebounding guard that gets on the offensive glass as well for put backs. We hadn’t seen him shoot it much prior to this event, but he got hot in the first half of one of their games. Displayed quality form and a lot of arc on it. Connected on a pair from deep. One to track at the LM/D2 level in 2018.
SG Morgan Grant (All-In/Young & Reckless 15U)
Grant was impressive with Y&R in Milwaukee. He is an athletic slashing wing that uses his speed/jumping combination to finish in transition, get on the offensive glass, and beat his man off the dribble. Potential on pull up jump shot.
PG Jeremiah Washington (All-In/Young & Reckless 15U)
The 5’7” 2019 point guard is quick with the ball in his hands. Pushes the tempo with the rock. Best as a distributor finding teammates in traffic and getting them the ball in position to score. Can be a bit loose with it at times and over dribble, but his slick handles allow him to get where he needs to operate.
PF DeChaun Anderson (All-In/Young & Reckless 15U)
Anderson is an undersized and powerful four man that has a physically developed body. He uses that to bully thinner posts on the interior. Anderson is a tough rebounder that finishes through contact consistently.
PG Zach Touissant (Kessel Heat 15U)
Touissant has garnered a nickname from us and that is the “Baby Faced Assassin.” He literally looks like he is 10 years old out there against other 15 year olds, but he can flat out shoot the rock. Tremendous range pulling up from deep and drilled them off the catch as well. Quick stroke with repeatable mechanics. 23 points from the rising sophomore in one game. He will be one to watch especially if he grows taller than the 5’10” he is currently listed at.
